1. Michigan Deer Hunting Season 2025: Start Dates

Michigan’s deer season 2025 kicks off in September with special early hunts, moves into archery season in November, rolls into the main firearm period in November, and wraps up with muzzleloading and late antlerless opportunities.

2. Ohio Deer Hunting Season

The Ohio deer hunting season 2025 opens up with archery from late September all the way into February, followed by special youth gun days, the main deer gun periods in December, and finally a short muzzleloader season to wrap things up.

3. Alabama Deer Hunting Season

Alabama’s 2025 deer hunting season stretches from mid-October through late January. Archery runs from October this year to February 2026, while muzzleloader season takes place in November. Youth hunters have their special season from October 31 to November 3. 

The main gun deer seasons on private land include multiple windows in November, December, and January for both antlered bucks and either-sex hunting, with dog-assisted hunts overlapping many of these dates. No matter your preferred method, there’s a time to suit every hunter this season.

5. Pennsylvania Deer Hunting Season

Pennsylvania's 2025 deer season opens with archery in September, Antlerless Muzzleloader in October, and proceeds to special firearms for antlerless, and Regular Firearms. The season has expanded Sunday hunting opportunities due to a new law that took effect in September 2025.

Important updates for 2025

  • Sunday hunting: A new law allows Sunday hunting on all Sundays that occur within an established season, with specific restrictions in state parks. 

  • Increased trespassing fines: Penalties for trespassing while hunting have been increased. 

  • Deer urine products: The use of deer urine products is now legal statewide, including within Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Management Areas.

6. Minnesota Deer Hunting Season

Minnesota deer season for 2025 includes archery from September 13 to December 31, firearm seasons in November (November 8–23 for 100 series and November 8–16 for 200/300 series, plus November 22–30 for 300 series), and a muzzleloader season from 

November 29 to December 14, and a youth season from October 16 to 19. Specific details, such as bag limits, vary by permit area.

7. Colorado Deer Hunting Season

Colorado's 2025 deer seasons include Archery (Sept. 2–30), Muzzleloader (Sept. 13–21), and multiple Rifle seasons: 1st Rifle (Oct. 15–19), 2nd Rifle (Oct. 25–Nov 2), 3rd Rifle (Nov. 8–16), and 4th Rifle (Nov. 19–23). 

A Plains Rifle season also takes place from Oct. 25–Nov. 4. All deer licenses are limited, and some units that previously offered over-the-counter archery tags now require a draw application, especially for non-residents.
