Customers praised this regulated PCP air rifle for exceptional accuracy and power, with one noting "pellet on pellet at 50 yards." Most appreciated the solid build quality, high shot count, and improved trigger over previous versions. However, several reviewers noted the trigger remains heavy (5-8 lbs vs advertised 3 lbs), and some experienced regulator inconsistencies or bolt issues.

Bolt and breech issue

I bought a total of four units—one for myself and three for friends. The unit I used has a loose bolt issue: when the breech is closed, the bolt assembly remains loose, causing movement between the breech and the bolt. This likely leads to air leakage or prevents the hammer from striking the valve correctly, resulting in muzzle velocities of only 400–500 fps. This happens consistently when the bolt is pushed forward; if it is locked in the rear position, velocities stay in the 930–950 fps range (using 15-grain pellets). Now I’m worried that the other units might have the same defect, and I won't be able to return them since I brought them all the way from the U.S. to Mexico!
The rifle feels solid and lightweight, and it comes with plenty of spare parts; it also included many bonus accessories, and the packages arrived well-protected, which I appreciate. However, I would also appreciate your help in resolving the issue I mentioned.

This is a great gun now. Trigger is just right for me, was a little nervous about it from all the reviews but pinty obviously listened and corrected the situation. Would recommend to anyone beginner or experienced. Is fun to shoot.also pinty customer service is top notch. That is very hard to get these days.

Nightfall MKII is Awesome!

The Nightfall MKI was a great airgun but the new Pinty Nightfall MKII is awesome and Pinty working on trigger performance now brought my Nightfall just under 3lbs. This regulated airgun is rugged and accurate.

Nightfall all day long

This .22 Pinty Night has proved to be a solid shooter. The high shot count makes plinking even more fun. Some may miss having a magazine but I am finding the single shot enjoyable as you make each shot count. Performed some pellet testing at 25 yards with interesting results.

Great little rifle. Don't hesitate to buy one. You won't regret it.

I'm absolutely blown away with this rifle. I own an Airforce Condor so I feel like I'm qualified to speak about this. Seeing since this is practically a one for one clone of the Airforce. Accurate, great trigger, consistent 950 plus fps plus or minus 8 fps over a 32 shot string using Crosman 14.3gr Premier Hollow Point. The trigger is less than 3lbs. Mine comes in a little over 2lbs absolutely zero modification. I looked and there is zero burs or anything to hang on. The safety is much better than the Airforce. I was able to resolve the bolt hanging up in both directions by disassembling and lubricating. 1st with CRC Dry Molly Lube and then some CLP oil on the barrel and working the bolt back and forth for a few minutes after each application. I also removed as much of the Molly as possible. Otherwise you have to hold your thumb as close to the bolt as possible to cycle it forward or backward. It loves 5.52 H & N Baracuda 18s. Not sure if there is an oversized chamber to ease loading and them it tapers down to a smaller diameter or not as it was very accurate with just about everything I fed it. The 3 baffle supressor left something to be desired but it's very well made for what it is. BTW, the barrel is 1/2 x20. I mention this because I've watched a lot of video where host acted like they had no idea what the size was. Mine did not come a 1/2 x 28 adapter as I've heard many mention. No big deal. They can be had on Amazon with the thread Protector at 2 for less than 20 bucks. I put a supressor on it from [****]. he makes 2 different suppressor. One with baffles and the other with a printed tube. They both work phenomenally. To top it all off, you can purchase one for under 35.00 from Amazon. He's a great guy who makes a great product and has excellent service after the sale.
Highly recommend.

Good little plinker!

This gun hits hard. From CHP 14.3gr to JTS 18s. Accuracy is decent and it's perfect for plinking. I attached the thread adaptor and used my DonnyFL Sumo moderator. My only complaint is the heavy trigger pull but I got used to it. And it lightened a little bit from constant use. For the price of it, I can forgive that trigger. I hope Pinty will release a .25cal of this tactical gun in the future. This is a solidly built gun!

My B-Day gift

My wife purchased this P-tactical for my B-day last week, knowing I wanted one but missed the chance on their first release. I love it! It rocks smooth, trigger is light, and it is very accurate. I added a scope, zeroed it in at 30 yards. With jts 18 grain pellets this thing stacks them. This is definitely gonna be my favorite .22 rifle.

Powerful, accurate, and very light weight

Like title says, this is a powerful lightweight and very accurate little hunter. I have none of the issues that some complained of from the 1st release P-tacticles. Very smooth bolt operation, no gritty trigger,( though it is a little heavy close to 5lbs).
This rifle is near perfect for stalk hunting through the brush for tree rats, trash pandas and armadillos. It won't weigh you down. Very important for us Grey's with blown spines or knees! I have 2 pictures. 1st using JTS 18 grain at 30 yards, it includes zeroing shots. 2nd pic is 22 grain Apollo slugs. I set pre load at 3 turns from zero. This baby is stout!

Excellent little Rifle!

Love it! This little beast weighs hardly anything, this is a big plus for us older gunners with blown out spines and hips. So easy to shoulder as well. Lining up shots comes completely natural. I love the operation and set up of the bolt handle cut outs. So much better than either of my air force rifles. And scoping is a total.piece of cake with the rails instead of dovetails. I can't say enough good about my P-tactical. Its extremely accurate, lot more so than I am, and really puts out the power.. Trash pandas and armadillos beware! I now have all 3 of the Pinty rifles, and the P-Pup was my favorite, until now. The P-Tac has definitely became my favorite.

Much better than advertised!

This gun is extremely powerful and extremely consistent, especially for the price. I got about 160 rounds on a single fill around 1300 on the regulator after 1300. I still got 815 ft./s I’m pretty sure this thing will hit 200 shots and still average above 6 to 800 per second. As for the , there aren’t really any bad things about this guy besides the fact that if there is a young child inexperienced person using this gun, there is a chance the bolt pit slip forward and discharge of bolt of air injuring someone. Bolt sticking as I’ve that I’ve heard about from other people, I haven’t had that issue and as long as you really understand how action works you won’t either. Hands-down for the value and the price this thing is definitely the top of my list. Very goodbye and I’m glad I did. So far I’ve put about 350-400 rounds through it and it’s performed flawless. It actually gets better as I shoot it. Average around 878 ft./s at the lowest factor circuit setting and around 945 to 950 at the highest. It still maintains accuracy.

Lots of bang for the buck!

I’ve been into PCP airguns for a while now ans I’ve been using Pinty sights on all of them. When I saw there was an Airgun being built by Pinty, I had to get one and I’m not disappointed!

Pinty Nightfall MK2

The Nightfall feels solid and well built. The bolt action is smooth and the trigger has a moderate pull weight-although single-stage only. However, even with the moderator, the report is loud. And, the regulator's performance is unacceptable.

Hi Michael, thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad you find the Nightfall MKII solid and well-built, but we're sorry to hear about the noise level and regulator issues. Please reach out to our support team so we can assist you further. We appreciate your input and hope to improve your experience.

This is my second review

This is my second review. After recieving my 2nd mkll, I removed the regulator and adj the pressure to 1900psi. It was set at 1300. Tested velocity with 14.3 gr premier hp and max vel is now 1200fps+ same as my airforce condor ss. Shot count dropped to 60-65 shots @ 1100 fps ( best accuracy for my 20gr hp slugs. Put on my custom moderator and the gun is quiet. This is now my go to night hunter, easily puts down trash pandas and feral cats. Shot a smaller pig 45lbs and dropped it @ 60 yrds. Wish they made a .25 cal. Also took down several yotes with it, one at just over 100yds. Took the bottle aasy off and installed it on my condor ss. Instant regulated condor. For less than the cost of a regulated bottle kit from huma.

Bought this as a backup to my airforce condor ss

Bought this as a backup to my airforce condor for rat patrols at night. Accuracy was astounding right out of the box. Tried it with 27 gr. Hollow pt slugs and it shoots 1 hole groups at 35 yds. Shot count was excellent on full power ( 70-75 ) and when dialed down 120+ shots @ 900 fps using crosman 14.3 gr premier hp. Just slightly louder than the condor, but the accuracy and consistency of the shot string was way better than the condor. Ordered another one to modify for a night hunter. This gun is awsome for the price.

Price is good, trigger is not.

I purchased a pinty because of the price and Foster quick refill. I was hopeful that the trigger could be adjusted for improvement. If your a licensed gunsmith like me. Working on a trigger is no big deal. For the average person this trigger is a not user friendly. For someone who loves working on their own equipment this trigger could be a deal breaker. The geometry is of the trigger pins limits the adjustments significantly. Had they place the sear pin lever 1-2 mm forward this trigger would be a different beast. The sear lever works like a seesaw fulcrum action. With the sear pin moved a 1-2mm and a longer lever the fulcrum would benefit the trigger significantly. The harder you tighten the hammer spring effects the stress on the trigger break. The trigger is horrible, mine was over 9lbs. Accuracy suffered as a result. The price and small compact design is fun for plinking. A 25 cal would be awesome. I also wish the manufacturer would list the three size and pitch in the manual. It would benefit ordering accessories.

Great trigger time with the Nighthawk Mk.2

Finally getting a little decent trigger time. Zeroing the scope, a 3x12x42AOAC Discovery, on my Mk.2 Nighfall. Shooting at 35 yards. Out of the 3 pellets I am using, the Hades are definitely the best and most accurate averaging at 918fps. The JTS DeadCenters 18.1 grain pellets are not far behind in speed, 892fps, but accuracy is not near as good. Decent, but not great. The 3rd is the Gamo blue bombers. 15.4 grains. They kinda wild.
Anyway, love the Mk.2. The trigger is a tremendous upgrade. Shooting it compared to my Mk.1, the Mk.1 loves all 3 pellets brands and weights. Just couple flyers with the blue bombers. It does shoot a little faster than my Mk.2, but only 8 to 10 fps. Anyway, if you dont have one of these, or are looking to upgrade, you can't go wrong with the Nighthawk Mk.2. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars.

New Gen2 Nightfall accuracy

Received my gen.2 Nightfall early yesterday afternoon. I immediately opened it up, cleaned the bore, and installed optics. Set up my target, right at 40 yards, give or take couple steps, to avoid huge.mudholes after all the rain. Pellets are 18 grain JTS Dead centers. What a difference over the gen.1 Nightfall! This thing makes accuracy so easy! The trigger change sure makes this rifle a 5 star winner.

Nightfall mkII

I’m writing a second review of the nightfall mkll. I was having an issue with the bolt popping up when fired. It’s a very easy fix. I used a m8x12x 1 mm copper washer and a small oring to hold washer in place. It brought this thing to life my fps spread is less than 2 over 30 shots now. I am using JTS 18.1 pellets. I liked this before but now i absolutely like it very accurate and consistent. Very cheap and easy fix for a problem many people have experienced. Happy shooting everyone I hope this helps

FAQs

What Is a PCP Airguns?

Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air rifles are the top tier of modern airgun technology. They power each shot using a built-in reservoir filled with high-pressure compressed air.

Why shooters prefer PCP over traditional airguns:

  • Zero Recoil: No heavy spring slamming forward, allowing you to stay perfectly on target.
  • High Consistency: Delivers stable, repeatable velocities across dozens of shots per fill.
  • Maximum Power: Easily drives heavier pellets at higher FPS for reliable hunting and target shooting.
Do I need a license to buy a PCP airgun?

In the United States, airguns are generally not classified as firearms under federal law, meaning no federal license (FFL) is required for purchase.

  • Shipping Restrictions: We ship across the domestic US, excluding Alaska and Hawaii.
  • Local Regulations: Some jurisdictions (such as New York City, New Jersey, Chicago, or parts of California) have strict local restrictions regarding calibers, magazine capacities, or shipping. It is the buyer's responsibility to check local laws before placing an order.
Do Pinty PCP air rifles feature a built-in regulator?

Yes, all Pinty PCP airguns come standard with a high-performance, internally regulated system.

Instead of relying on an un-regulated valve that suffers from velocity drops as the tank pressure decreases, our built-in regulator ensures that every single shot receives the exact same air pressure from the first fill down to the regulator's set point.

How do I maintain my PCP air rifle? Is dry firing safe?

PCP rifles require far less maintenance than springers, but here are the golden rules:

  • Dry Firing: It is generally not recommended to dry fire (shooting without a pellet) frequently. Without a pellet to create backpressure, the raw airflow causes harsher impact on internal valves and O-rings over time.
  • Lubrication: Keep the external moving parts (like the side-lever action) lightly lubed. Never put petroleum-based oils inside the fill nipple or air reservoir, as high-pressure oxygen combined with petroleum poses a combustion hazard. Use pure silicone oil only.
How do I fill a PCP air rifle, and what equipment do I need?

Unlike CO2 or spring guns, PCP air rifles require specialized high-pressure equipment to fill their onboard tanks. You can fill them using three primary methods:

  • PCP Compressor: The most convenient method. A portable 12V/110V PCP compressor can fill your rifle in just a few minutes.
  • Scuba/Carbon Fiber Tank: A large external tank that can quickly transfill your rifle via a fill station adapter.
  • High-Pressure Hand Pump: A budget-friendly, manual 3-stage pump. While effective, it requires significant physical effort.

Note: Standard shop air compressors or bicycle pumps cannot reach the high pressures required for PCP airguns.

What caliber and type of pellets should I use? Can I shoot slugs?

For premium performance, we recommend using high-quality lead pellets matched to your rifle's caliber.

  • Pellets vs. Slugs: Our current barrels feature precision standard rifling (non-choked) optimized for standard diabolo pellets. While they can shoot lightweight slugs, round-nosed or hollow-point pellets will yield the tightest groupings and best consistency out of the box.
