Pinty Thumper Compact Bullpup MKII

Overview & Spec
Pinty Thumper Compact Bullpup MKII - Enhanced Precision Air Rifle

The upgraded Pinty Thumper MKII delivers superior performance with key engineering improvements. Its re-engineered exhaust valve provides 5%-10% higher muzzle velocity (up to 930 fps) while eliminating leaks for consistent power. The heavier hammer system boosts gas efficiency by 30%, maximizing every 3625 psi fill for up to 60 powerful shots. Featuring a 9-pellet rotary magazine, Picatinny rail, and compact 27.5" bullpup design with classic wood stock, this .22 caliber air rifle combines precision, power and reliability for serious shooters.

Warning: If filling the airgun from 0 psi, then it will be necessary to cock the airgun to remove the force of the hammer against the firing valve. Otherwise, the air will pass through the firing valve and out the barrel, and the airgun will not pressurize.

Awesome little Bullpup!!

I am really impressed with the Thumper! From the finish of the stock to the build quality, it feels better than more expensive rifles. I have been able to run quite a few pellets through it, and it has functioned flawlessly. The magazines work well and no issues with it feeding pellets.

For the price I am not sure there is an equivalent out there. It is accurate for a short barreled Bullpup and shot count is good for the size. I have several air rifles and the Pinty Thumper is turning into my favorite, well until the Striker I ordered comes in.

The Thumper is a great compact regulated airgun

The Thumper is a great compact regulated airgun with sufficient power for getting those small critters or just plinking. Very good accuracy with a smooth trigger.

Pinty Striker in .25 Cal Awesome!

southocairguns I've been looking forward to shooting this one! Pinty Striker in .25 cal PCP Bullpup. Just arrived a couple of days ago. Now, I'm waiting for Amazon to deliver the K scope I ordered for it. This pup deserves a modern scope. ItS0 definitely keeper and incredible value for the money. Will post again after I get it dialed in. Set up fresh targets and mounted my chronograph on the tripod to record pellet speed. I have its stablemate also, the Diana Skyhawk with a beautiful Minelli laminated stock, one of my favorite PCPs.

Awesome bullpup!

After owning the Pinty bullpup for a couple of weeks, I’ve found it to be a great gun! At 50 yards, it gives me 2-inch, 9-shot groups using cheap Crosman hollow points. When I chronographed it, it was shooting at 930 FPS, generating 27 FPE plenty of power to take down squirrels.
I really like the wood stock and the fact that it’s almost entirely metal. The only plastic I found was part of the trigger and the cheek piece. It’s super light, compact, and the baffles do a good job keeping the noise down. It also has an adjustable trigger, which I found to be a nice touch. I especially appreciate that they placed the side lever in the middle of the gun it’s easy to reach and operate.
Some of the negatives: I sometimes find it hard to cock. When I pull the side lever back, it occasionally takes a lot of effort to get it to engage. Another downside is that it doesn’t have moderator threads. And finally, I’m not a fan of how the pressure gauge is placed in front of the barrel.
But other than that it is a great budget bullpup!

Great Bullpup

This is my first bullpup in my collection of airguns. Shoots accurate and is easy to maneuver. No long barrel to get in the way, but plenty of power for small game and plinking. Customer service was fantastic

Best airgun I never shot

Tech support bent over backwards to get the 9 pellet .22 cal bullpup to work, but I'm all thumbs and didn't have the necessary tools to do the work to get the gun to work, so they were left with having to refund the purchase price of the airgun Top Rate Service Dept

Great little Pup!

Received my P-pup yesterday afternoon. Checked all screws, cleaned barrel filled with air and let it sit overnight for leak test. No leaks. Upon trying to load magazines, found one will not make spring pressure when turning it,so it's bad. Other one works fine. Zeroed at 20 yards this morning. Found the 18.13 gr. EXACT jumbo heavy DIABLO to be dead solid perfect! H&N hunters were very close to it, and the Gamo blue bombers good enough for plinking cans. Love the rifle! Couldn't ask for better anywhere near this price range.

Best Bullpup under $800

Pros: Regulated, metal rails, light weight, accurate, huge shot count per fill, over-trigger side lever, nearly silent, compact, 900fps+ with 14.3 gr pellets, comes with spare o-rings and silicone grease, spring loaded auto-closing fill port cover.
Cons: placement of safety makes it easy to press and interfere with trigger, lack of competent customer service and spare parts as of time of this review. Emails sent to Pinty take several days to receive replies, and replies are obviously translations from Chinese and often do not pertain to the question being asked. The price of the rifle and it's quality for the price are amazing. Being able to give service to the products being sold is just as, if not even more, important

Good Looking Bullpup!

I cleaned and polished the bullpup, cleaned barrel, and checked the screws. I was able to shoot two magazines of Crosman hollow points 14.3 grains at a max of 953.4fps, low919fps, SD7.3 and an ES33.8. The weather is too cold to do more for now.

High Quality, A Tack Driver!

Being a target shooter, hunter and outdoorsmen all my life I was not sure what to expect. The Thumper was sent quickly and when I received it, I was very impressed with the build quality. I added the 1X6 Pinty LVPO scope, sighted in and WOW! This thing is amazing, at 40 yards it holds a 3/4" group. Never thought a PCP could do that. It put my Notos into retirement. Even better is the customer service. Even though they do not have a telephone for direct conversations, they responded to e-mails right away with answers to questions. If your on the fence, I highly recommend it if you want a well built, beefy little PCP rifle that can be used to hunt small game or just plink in the backyard. This group was shot with cheap Crosman .22 pellets from Wallmart. Nough said, Buy it!

Surprising good, inexpensive PCP rifle

I was surprised to see how well the gun worked right out of the box. It's lightweight, accurate and has a really nice trigger pull. I never thought I'd buy a bullpup, but am so glad that I found this one. It's become my go to for getting rid of backyard pests. I wish the magazine was larger and a little less confusing to load, but it gets easier the more you use it.

FAQs

What Is a PCP Airguns?

Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air rifles are the top tier of modern airgun technology. They power each shot using a built-in reservoir filled with high-pressure compressed air.

Why shooters prefer PCP over traditional airguns:

  • Zero Recoil: No heavy spring slamming forward, allowing you to stay perfectly on target.
  • High Consistency: Delivers stable, repeatable velocities across dozens of shots per fill.
  • Maximum Power: Easily drives heavier pellets at higher FPS for reliable hunting and target shooting.
Do I need a license to buy a PCP airgun?

In the United States, airguns are generally not classified as firearms under federal law, meaning no federal license (FFL) is required for purchase.

  • Shipping Restrictions: We ship across the domestic US, excluding Alaska and Hawaii.
  • Local Regulations: Some jurisdictions (such as New York City, New Jersey, Chicago, or parts of California) have strict local restrictions regarding calibers, magazine capacities, or shipping. It is the buyer's responsibility to check local laws before placing an order.
Do Pinty PCP air rifles feature a built-in regulator?

Yes, all Pinty PCP airguns come standard with a high-performance, internally regulated system.

Instead of relying on an un-regulated valve that suffers from velocity drops as the tank pressure decreases, our built-in regulator ensures that every single shot receives the exact same air pressure from the first fill down to the regulator's set point.

How do I maintain my PCP air rifle? Is dry firing safe?

PCP rifles require far less maintenance than springers, but here are the golden rules:

  • Dry Firing: It is generally not recommended to dry fire (shooting without a pellet) frequently. Without a pellet to create backpressure, the raw airflow causes harsher impact on internal valves and O-rings over time.
  • Lubrication: Keep the external moving parts (like the side-lever action) lightly lubed. Never put petroleum-based oils inside the fill nipple or air reservoir, as high-pressure oxygen combined with petroleum poses a combustion hazard. Use pure silicone oil only.
How do I fill a PCP air rifle, and what equipment do I need?

Unlike CO2 or spring guns, PCP air rifles require specialized high-pressure equipment to fill their onboard tanks. You can fill them using three primary methods:

  • PCP Compressor: The most convenient method. A portable 12V/110V PCP compressor can fill your rifle in just a few minutes.
  • Scuba/Carbon Fiber Tank: A large external tank that can quickly transfill your rifle via a fill station adapter.
  • High-Pressure Hand Pump: A budget-friendly, manual 3-stage pump. While effective, it requires significant physical effort.

Note: Standard shop air compressors or bicycle pumps cannot reach the high pressures required for PCP airguns.

What caliber and type of pellets should I use? Can I shoot slugs?

For premium performance, we recommend using high-quality lead pellets matched to your rifle's caliber.

  • Pellets vs. Slugs: Our current barrels feature precision standard rifling (non-choked) optimized for standard diabolo pellets. While they can shoot lightweight slugs, round-nosed or hollow-point pellets will yield the tightest groupings and best consistency out of the box.
